Told you it would be awhile...

...and this is why I don't blog, because it takes me 6 months to update it!  So much going on, where to start?!?!  Guess we can go person by person...

Jackson is doing very well!  He has started going to school a few days a week for pre-k, and loves it!  He especially likes riding the bus.  He continues to work on his speech, and new words are springing up often, usually to our surprise.  He loves our redesigned lake area, as well as the new swing set that Dana got him.  He climbs the rock wall on his own, and remains fearless!  Most of his interests right now lean towards anything "Toy Story" related.  Toys, books, movies...he cannot get enough!  Health-wise, Jack has been in pretty good shape this year, no complaints!!

Tyler has been busy getting ready for his Senior year of high school, finishing out his Junior campaign with Straight "A's".  This summer has taken him to Illinois Boys State, where he was introduced to the ridiculous inner workings of the government.  He also took a whirlwind tour of Colleges, and continues to look for the right fit.  Recently, he auditioned for American Idol, he didn't get the "golden ticket", but we were proud that he tried, and he did great nonetheless!  Band camp starts soon, and Tyler's days of freedom will soon be replaced with marching and sweating.

Dana left Children's Hospital after 15 years for a new adventure as Director of the Cardiology Lab at Biomedical Systems in St. Louis.  So far, she loves it!  The people have been fantastic, and it has been challenging and exciting!  At home, when she isn't chasing our kids around, Dana expertly tends the gardens at our house...we have the best looking roses in the neighborhood by far!  She somehow manages to become more beautiful every day, pretty lucky guy here!

As far as my update...I'm pretty boring.  I spend the majority of my free time either going to Tyler's events, or chasing Jack around the house.  I'm loving Dana's new job as well, because it means she is home a lot earlier!

No clue when I'll update this again...could be sooner, most likely later...let's be honest, I'll forget!

Gotta Start Somewhere...

At the request of Mrs. Mel Byrge, there is now a blog to document the life and times of our family!  I'm not sure that our day to day life is necessarily newsworthy, but I'll give it a shot...

Very busy weekend at our house, both boys were home, and we did not want to sit around.  Friday night Tyler went to the GCHS basketball game as part of the band, GCHS did not fare well against East St. Louis...this should not be shocking.  While he was otherwise occupied, Dana and I took Jack to the YMCA in Edwardsville for some swimming.  He floated and kicked and splashed around the pool for over an hour, I foresee many nights spent there this winter...

Momma had to work Saturday morning, when she returned to us we decided to take the boys and Robert to the STL Mills.  Ty and Robert did what teenage boys do best, ran in the complete opposite direction from us, and showed up when they were hungry.  Jack spent about 4 hours in the NASCAR play park.  He spent most of the time on either the "slow" car ride, or the "fast" car ride.  Anyone who knows "Action" Jackson can correctly assume that he spent the majority of the time in the fast cars.  He also took turns on the ride that brings you to the ceiling, and then drops you.  He has no fear, period.  Dinner was at Chevy's, which as always, was decidedly mediocre.  Good salsa (unless you ask Robert), pretty good queso, the slowest service on earth.  Our waiter, Sloth, emerged from the kitchen every 15 minutes or so...no biggie, we were in good company.

Sunday morning brought our usual breakfast at the Apple Tree Restaurant...lots of coloring, thrown food, and Jack "sprinkling" sugar packets on everything.  He enjoys shaking closed packets of sugar over his food.  Jack was then dropped off at his other house; Ty and I watched the Packers dominate (or win at least) while Dana shopped till she dropped.

I'll try to update on weekends after we have the boys, or if something of interest happens.  Most likely, I'll forget all about it until someone reminds me to update...Will try to add some pictures next time as well, it makes my narration a little more bearable...

Until next time...
